Mark and Martha Kent with children moved to Union Co. South Carolina around 1790. Mark died in Union Co. S.C. 1791. Martha Bankhead Kent died in Union Co. S.C. 1803. Estate settlements of Mark and Martha Bankhead Kent (1803) and of William Kent,their son (1841) both list 3 sons and 5 daughters for Mark and Martha. So does the Union Co. census. Mark and Martha had 375 acres,personal property, animals(doc-summary of estate settlement)

noticed Mark is still showing England as place of birth. Maybe you have something to share?

If you don't, maybe a little help here, the 1900 Census for David M. Kent, age 88 who was Mark's grandson states a place for the family patriarch as Ireland. It is in a 1900 census in Arkansas. My grandfather, ggf and gggf David Marion Kent are all in the same house. David is found next to Elizabeth Whitlock Kent in 1845-50, a grandson is named Rector Greenville Kent and mail arrived for him in Bedford County in 1841 so we can be 99% certain he is John's son. The other 1% is that he is John's grandson through an unknown father.
