He married Wynna Caudle Key in Bedford, Va, December 21, 1789. Wynna was born in Albemarle, Va 1765. She was the daughter of John Iii Key and Agnes Witt. Wynna died before 1860 in Logan, Va. Bedford County, Virginia marriage records Thomas Burgess and Wynna Caudle Key dated 21 Dec 1789. 1810 Giles County Virginia Census 1815 Giles County Virginia Tax List shows Thomas Burgess living on the North side of the East River in Giles County, Virginia. Hiram Burgess his son is married and living a few doors away. 1820 Cabell County Virginia Census Deed Books Cabell County, Virginia dated 24 July 1822 Thomas Burgess leases land on the waters of the Buffalo Creek near the Guyandotte River in Cabell County Virginia. (now Logan County, West Virginia near Man West Virginia.) 1830 Logan County Virginia Census 1840 Logan County, Virginia Census Thomas Burgess is not listed, and is assumed dead at this time. Wynna is believed to be listed with her son Thomas Burgess. 1850 Census Logan County, Virginia Dwelling #39 Wynna is listed still living with her son Thomas Burgess and his wife Harriet Allen. Wynna is 85. Thomas Burgess Junior is listed in the 1840 Logan County, Virginia Census Thomas Burgess Senior died between 1837 and the 1840 Census. Giles County, Virginia marriage records. Monroe County, Virginia marriage records. 1850 Logan County, Virginia lists several of the sons in Tridelphia District. From 1793 in Bedford County, Virginia till a record in 1805 in Montgomery County, Virginia we have no record on Thomas Burgess. In August 1805 Thomas Burgess Grantor bought 4 acres from John Toney for $10. East River, Montgomery County, Virginia later became Giles County, Virginia. Burgess, Mullins, Browning, Brown and Allied Families has more infor- mation on this family. Wills Bedford County, Virginia dated 27 July 1778 William Burgess will states, "I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Burgess one hundred fifty one acres of land being the place whereon I now dwell in Bedford County, but my dear wife Susannah Burgess is to have it as long as she remains a widow. I bequeath to my son Thomas Burgess my two year boy mare, one smooth bore gun." Marriage Records Bedford County, Virginia Thomas Burgess married Wynna Caudle Key 21 Dec 1789 John Key was the Surety. Deeds Bedford County, Virginia On 28 Jan 1793 Thomas Burgess sold property to John Thurman. Census 1820 Cabell County, Virginia Males 010 1016 1618 1626 2645 45up Fe 010 1016 1626 2645 45 Thomas Burgess 3 1 0 2 0 1 0 1 0 0 1 Deeds Cabell County, Virginia (WVA) Deed Book 3 page 586 On July 24, 1822 when Buffalo Creek was still in Cabell County, Thomas Burgess Senior leased one hundred acres from John Preston of Botetourt County, Virginia for the unbelievable sum of $1.00 per anum. The deed indicates that the land was on Buffalo Creek near the Guyandotte River; therefore, this property was near the present day town of Man, Logan, West Virginia.

35 ix. Andrew Burgess was born in Giles, Va 1806. He married Nancy in Of Giles, Virginia, about 1831.
36 x. Elizabeth Burgess was born in Giles, Virginia 1806. She married Joseph C Kendall December 10, 1823.
37 xi. Sarah Sally Burgess was born in , Virginia about 1810. Sarah died July 1839/1841 in Fayette, Virginia. She married Job Martin in Kanawha, Virginia, December 30, 1829. Job was born in Greenbrier, Virginia 1806. Job died July 17, 1884 in Fayette, West Virginia. (See Job Martin for the continuation of this line.)
